Mildred Button writes

"When I was nearly fifteen, in October 1922, I started work at an embroidery and needlework shop. We called it 'art-needlework'. The shop was in Sutherland House. a fine old place with elaborate ceilings in Southwold High Street. I did embroidery there as well as serving at the counter. One of my jobs was to run errands to the Homeknit factory opposite the station, to fetch the knitting wool that was sold in the shop. It is not clear to me what they did in the factory - not knitting, but perhaps they were spinning knitting wool."
